Letter From Our VP of Membership: Dear PNMs...

Dear Potential New Members,

My name is Jeannie Peters and I am currently the recruitment chair for the Alpha Omicron chapter, here at Miami University. I want to welcome you all to this new and exciting time in your lives and express how thrilled we are to meet each and every one of you come recruitment. It feels like yesterday that I was going through recruitment and was anxiously waiting to go through each round with nerves in my stomach and questioning where I would find my place. I want to assure you that you will find your home either here at Delta Gamma or another empowering sorority on campus and will come to the same realization that I did; the realization that going Greek was the best decision I made here at Miami. Going Greek and choosing Delta Gamma has changed my life and has led me to friends that will last me my whole lifetime.

Coming from a small out of state school, and being the only one in my graduating class to attend Miami, I was nervous for college and how my four years would go. Finding a home in Delta Gamma made my past four years some of the happiest four years of my life and I know choosing to go Greek will make a long lasting impact on you as well.

College is a time to find yourself, which can be challenging for a lot of people, but with the constant support of 200 sisters encouraging you every step of the way, even the toughest times are easier to handle. Delta Gamma not only allows you to challenge yourself and become a better person, but it gives you a place to call home and a family full of sisters to lean on. Through studying together, both abroad and in Oxford, along with living together, Delta Gamma provides the means of creating everlasting friendships that will go well beyond the short four years at Miami.

We are overly excited to meet all of you and hope that you are just as excited and happy to meet everyone here in Alpha Omicron. On campus, we strive to uphold the foundations in which Delta Gamma was based: to foster high ideals of friendship, promote education and cultural interests, create a true sense of social responsibility, and develop the finest qualities of character. Whether it is within our Delta Gamma chapter, in a classroom, with another campus organization, or on a sports team, our members are leaders and are constantly striving to live up to the motto “Do Good.”

Congratulations on your decision to participate in formal recruitment. We are excited for recruitment to begin!

I look forward to meeting you all!

With love,

Jeannie Peters
